四级作文题目是校园课外活动。2019年1月15日，中国教育部考试中心与英国文化教育协会在京联合发布雅思、普思考试与中国英语能力等级量表对接研究结果。雅思听力得5分，即达到中国英语能力等级量表四级水平。大学英语四级考试，即CET-4，College English Test Band 4的缩写，是由国家教育部高等教育司主持的全国性英语考试。考试的主要对象是根据教育大纲修完大学英语四级的在校专科生、本科生或研究生。大学英语四、六级标准化考试自1986年末开始筹备，1987年正式实施。英语四级考试目的是推动大学英语教学大纲的贯彻执行，对大学生的英语能力进行客观、准确的测量，为提高我国大学英语课程的教学质量服务。四六级考试采用"多卷多题"的形式进行，即每个考场采用三套不同的试卷，仅听力部分使用相同试题。此举的目的在于使考试更加公平，更加合理。就所测试的语言能力而言，试点阶段的四级考试由听力理解、阅读理解、写作和翻译。听力理解部分新闻占7%，对话占8%，篇章占20%。
